Calista

Calista is three and a half years old and 9 lbs. Her family adopted her as a kitten but no longer has time to care for her. She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be tested for FIV/FeLV very soon. If you have a place in your heart for this sweet kitty, please apply online and we'll be in touch. Here's what her family shared with us: Calista ("Cali") has been with our family since she was only about 5 weeks old and has grown up with my kids, who were just 5 and 7 years old when we brought her home. She is now 3½ years old and has always been an indoor cat. Cali is a sweet, curious cat who likes to be around her people and is even comfortable with strangers. She is very vocal and will call for you if she doesn't know where you are in the house. She loves affection and will rub against you or give you little headbutts whenever she wants attention. Like most cats, though, when she's done being petted, she'll let you know. She loves hunting and leaping after feather toys, but she also enjoys sitting in the window watching the world outside and especially during thunderstorms. Instead of hiding from the thunder, she'll happily watch the rain and lightning for as long as the storm lasts. She has grown up with our dog and the two of them play together often and are surprisingly close in size. She's never lived with another cat, so I'm not sure how she would do in a home with other cats. She enjoys finding cozy places to nap, exploring the house, and simply being wherever her people are. Cali has been spayed, is up to date on all of her vaccinations, and has always been well cared for. We love her very much, and our biggest hope is to find her a family who will love and cherish her just as much as we have.
