Meet Scarlett! Hi, I'm Scarlett! I'm a sweet, affectionate 1 yr old girl who loves nothing more than giving kisses and wrapping my humans in hugs—they make me feel safe, loved, and secure. I'm a playful pup with lots of enthusiasm! I am a terrier mix girl and am actually a smaller medium size, only 28 lbs!! Toys are my absolute favorite, and I'm always ready for a game of tug-of-war or fetch. Even better? I'll bring the ball right back and drop it at your feet so we can keep playing. I absolutely enjoy the company of other dogs and often look to them for confidence and guidance. I'm still learning about social boundaries, though, and sometimes I have trouble understanding when another dog isn't interested in playing. If a friend tells me "not right now," I may bark because I'm still figuring out those social cues. I'm crate trained and do wonderfully in my crate. I can comfortably stay there for up to five hours when needed, and I sleep in my crate every night. Since I'm still learning how to settle on my own, I also benefit from scheduled crate naps during the day to help me recharge. The world is still a big place, and new people and unfamiliar environments can feel a little scary at first. I like to take my time exploring until I know I'm safe. During those moments, I love reassurance from my humans—and a hug is one of my favorite ways to feel confident again. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and incredibly loving companion who will shower you with affection and be your best friend, I just might be the perfect match. I can't wait to meet my forever family! If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup, please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application. Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will be in touch! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
